With global warming and dramatic weather changes predicted in the future, inland water flow and ocean surge flooding as well as man-made coastal disasters, protecting our coastline is a subject that we as Americans must address and deal with immediately.

We believe that it is our duty and responsibility as a public service organization to invest our time, talent and resources to aid in the development of solutions to meet the social, economic and environmental challenges of our times.

The destruction caused by Gulf Coast hurricanes and the recent oil-spill disaster have clearly demonstrated the critical need for a flood prevention and environmental protection system as well as new and effective construction techniques that can withstand torrential storm conditions.

As President Obama recently said "When we all work together, when each of us looks beyond our own short-term interests to the wider set of obligations we have to each other, that's when we succeed." This is very much in agreement with our philosophy and motto which is "In the Shelter of Each Other the Community Lives(tm)". View IPHF Brochure

We at IPHF along with other concerned professionals have been researching development of a ecological protection system for Gulf Coast communities under a project that we call Save Our Coastline * Save Our Cities - Fultz Memorial Seawall Project. This project named posthumously in honor of Project Director and Civil Engineer, Lester A. Fultz, P.E. is a National Service initiative to help protect the physical infrastructure and fragile ecological environments on the Gulf Coast.

Our proposed seawall eco-barrier project will:

  • help protect our coastlines from oil-spills and man-made catastrophes,
  • protect valuable fisheries and natural wildlife habitat resources,
  • improve the quality of our coastal waters,
  • provide recreational opportunities for the public's use and enjoyment as well as
  • buffer our coastal communities from the impacts of storms, sea level rise and future ecological tragedies.
Finally, a seawall barrier is also integral as well as critical to the protection, security and feasibility of future recovery and rebuilding efforts from storms and environmental tragedies.

Funds raised for this coastal seawall project will be used to:
  • Conduct fact-finding missions nationally and internationally to assess and evaluate successful technologies and innovations in Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) planning and implementation programs.
  • Pre-development research of flourishing conservation approaches successful in other coastal communities.
  • Conduct pre-development engineering and architectural design studies to confirm and support design concepts.
  • Investigate and identify critically endangered location(s) in Gulf Coast communities to construct eco-barrier demonstration project(s).
  • Research and study storm resistant multilevel mixed-use building technologies and construction techniques.

This permanent ecological seawall system we are proposing is not only essential to the effective and efficient reduction of ecological devastation, inland flooding and ocean surge water flow from rising sea levels, but also has other immediate and long-range measurable economic as well as environmental benefits such as:

  • Create jobs and employment,
  • Enhance and stimulate local economy,
  • Secure and attract future investments in the local community,
  • Enhance and encourage of economic growth,
  • Reduce insurance costs, as well as
  • Functions as a bio-diverse eco-conservancy park and public recreation area that protects fisheries and natural resources in coastal communities for generations to come
As a community service organization, we are especially pained and deeply troubled by the recent loss of life from the oil spill disaster and suffering of our fellow citizens who have lost their fishing livelihoods as well as those people forced to abandon their homes whenever hurricanes and storms enter the Gulf. But, we need your help to make a difference!! Click below to view YouTube NASA | Satellites View of Growing Gulf Oil Spill.

Therefore, we're now reaching out to you personally - the public at large - as well as to the corporate, business and University communities to support our coastal protection and preservation effort. So, you're invited to contact us anytime to discuss how you can aid and assist our project with whatever resources you might have available and within your means.

Help fund this vital coastal preservation project. Donate today $5 - $10 or $20 and receive a "free" MP3 copy of our Save Our Coastline theme music "The Whale Song" Click to listen!

We thank you for your time - kindness, generosity, patriotism and support! Please continue visiting our website and learn more about our unique community development programs and projects.
